There is obviously a great deal of backstory for this. At this time, these events exist only in my head. Whether I'll ever put them on paper depends largely upon whether I ever feel confident that I'd be able to do well by them.
Fond acknowledgement to Lori and Brenda, who supplied immeasurable help to this neophyte writer. Among other things, they showed me that Donner was trying to be a different sort of man from what I'd thought. Particular thanks to Lori, who not only helped me keep Daniel's eyeballs inside his skull, but served admirably as my (foul) language coach.
