| NOTES: |
This one has been a while coming, for various reasons. It's a good lesson to writers everywhere--be careful what you promise, because some day you may have to come through LOL!
A few years ago, I yielded to a niggling fascination with the similar names of characters in our beloved Stargate and a program called "Profiler." This was the only real motivation behind the story. So I set up a sort of vague and mysterious background which gave me the opportunity to create a few scenes dropping the characters from the two shows into the same setting.
I received quite a lot of very flattering feedback for that little story, much of which included that plea all of us hear so often, "Will there be a sequel?" I hadn't planned a sequel; I hadn't even plotted any of that mysterious background stuff. But in the flush of all the nice words, I agreed. There would be a sequel.
Oh, foolish mortal! It took a while for it to sink in that this meant that all that vague, unplotted background stuff had to get pretty concrete pretty fast LOL!
Things got a little... unusual along the way. So here, with tongue planted ever so delicately in cheek, I present the companion story to "Wrong Turn." You'll find this begins before "Wrong Turn," and extends beyond it, which is why I didn't call it a sequel. Enjoy LOL!
NOTE: The original story was gen. I always knew the Jack and Daniel in that story were together, but there was no situation in "Wrong Turn" which required that anyone else know it :^) This story is slash, because unlike "Wrong Turn," it's told from the SGC side of the events, and Jack and Daniel certainly know they are a couple ;^)
ANOTHER NOTE: Sorry, Teal'c fans, but he stayed home this time :^( I sort of boxed myself into that one when I wrote "Wrong Turn."
FINAL NOTE: About timelines and continuity. When I wrote "Wrong Turn" and began plotting this story, "Meridian" was still an evil gleam in someone's wicked eye. But the events following Meridian just fed into the plot of this story too deliciously to ignore. So, though in other aspects I did my level best to preserve all of the integrity of "Wrong Turn," I've deliberately moved the events forward into somewhere during the seventh season, at least in terms of what is in Daniel's past. Note, however, that for me SuperSam/SammyPoo and StupidJack have never had any excuse for existence, so Sam and Jack are still their lovely, third-seasonish real selves in this story. And of course, the infimary of the SGC is and will be for many years to come firmly under the control of Doctor Janet Frasier.

Stargate SG-1 and its characters are properties of Showtime/Viacom, MGM/UA, Double Secret Productions and Gekko Productions. They don't deserve them. They've treated them dreadfully. But the fact that they own them is irrefutable, unfortunately. Original characters, situations and story are the property of the author and are not to be appropriated without the permission of the author. This story is intended for entertainment purposes only; no money will be made from it. Trust me. No money. |
