Your Voice (Stand Alone)
Contingency (Stand Alone)

I am fascinated by the exploration of Daniel's background. I also seem to favor a story style which I call "domestic" as opposed to action/adventure, so this is a natural for me. I've written several stories exploring and building my own version of the influences that shaped our Doctor Daniel Jackson, and here they are.

This story doesn't feature much SG-1 time. The only member of the team to appear is Daniel, and he's in a rather different sort of form LOL! My feeling is that to become a man like Daniel Jackson, you must pretty much start out in a fairly remarkable way.

Why is it that no one (other than Jack--and then only seldom) abbreviates Daniel's given name? Almost everyone calls him by his first name, but it's virtually always the formal version, rather than a diminutive.

Among all of my stories, I feel that this is the best done. As a quick perusal of some of the other stories in my collection will reveal, I am a lover of music, and the moment I set eyes on Daniel's big, lovely hands, I pegged him as a guitarist. A couple of years ago I wrote a story called Private Artist (my personal favorite among my stories). In that story, I introduced Daniel's precious guitar. Quite a bit later, I decided to flesh out the story of where that guitar came from. Oh, Private Artist is on my adult story list, so you'll have to contact me if you want to read it. Sorry.
There is one more story in this sequence, but I'm afraid it's adult in nature. If interested, email me and request access to the Adult SG-1 page. You'll be asked for an age statement, as "Adult" means just that.
I'll admit it--I really like crossovers if they are well done and if they utilize characters with which I'm familiar (and whose execution is good). I've written only one to date, though I'm planning more.

Wrong Turn came about because of a fascination with coincidences in name choice. Since writing this, I've become very aware of this. Why is it that a strong, intellectual woman on a television show is so likely to be named "Samantha"? Why are strong, commanding male characters so often "Jack"? At any rate, I was tickled by the name overlap between Stargate SG-1 and a show called Profiler, and this was the result. I have finally written the companion story to Wrong Turn. Sorry for the long wait. And sorry to those of you who read only gen, but the sequel is slash. I always knew Jack and Daniel were a couple, even in Wrong Turn, but there was no reason for that to be part of the original story. But Teatime is from the SG-1 point of view, and Jack and Daniel know very well that they are a couple ;^)
Teatime With the Gods is the long-delayed companion to Wrong Turn. Here we discover how Daniel got in such a fix in the first place, just who wanted to get their greedy, sticky little hands on him, and how retribution fell upon their pretentious heads ;^) This story is slash, and to access it you must contact me at bri@brionhet.com and give me an age statement :^)
Some stories just happen because they do LOL! Most of my small stories end up in this category, mostly because they result from some little thing that tickles my fancy.

Contingency is my obligatory Quantum Mirror story LOL! I've always thought that There But For the Grace of God and Point of View displayed only a very shallow exploration of the real consequences of the differences between those two versions of the universe and our. Particularly the differences resulting from their lack of a Daniel Jackson. So here I try my hand at a more in-depth treatment of the issue, and at the same time indulge my yen to give Daniel the happy ending that canon is never going to supply for him.

Many moons ago, at about the time I really got immersed in Stargate SG-1, I heard a beautiful, haunting song that powerfully invoked the hopelessness of the situation for Daniel and Sha'uri. After all this time, I've finally written a tiny little story based on that song. Your Voice is an episode tag to Forever In A Day. Oh, and the song is I'll Hear Your Voice, by Scott Leonard.

...And All's Well is a small story set early in eighth season. I was tickled by the episode "Zero Hour," and liked the idea of taking a look at a day in the life of brand new Brigadier General J. O'Neill. This story isn't really a stand-alone. There are little bits in it that link to my major story arc, Disconnected, as well as a pretty strong hook to the Private Artist stories. Those story arcs are both slash, and this little bit of a thing fits in with them. However, there isn't a single even slightly slashy suggestion here. A final note: Bri's version of Season Eight isn't precisely the same as canon, so you might check the "notes" for this story. Or you could just read it and be surprised :^)

JimJam is a very early story, and one of my grand total of two responses to list challenges. I'm not so good at writing to order. But the challenge was to write a story involving Jammies--thus, a "JammyFic." I decided to see if I could do this in a somewhat unexpected way. I love the OC I created for this story. Some day I need to figure out a way for Heather to make another appearance LOL!

Another very early story. This one is very sentimental, and probably should carry an "excess sugar allowance" warning, but I have to admit I still like it :^) Give me a break--it was written as a Christmas story.
One interesting Bri-historical note about this story: If you are familiar with my work, and look closely, you can spot the first tiny, off-stage appearance of my very favorite of all of the OC's I've ever created.

(frisky thoughts)
A truly exceptional story for me--one in which neither Jack nor Daniel makes an appearance, other than as a mention. And I'm still not entirely sure this story belongs here and not on the Adult page LOL! Sam has some rather frisky thoughts, here. This is a song-fic. Much to my surprise, I discover that I've written several of those things. The idea for this one comes from a truly exceptional song by a filker named Tom Smith. The song? Superman Sex Life Boogie.

Something I don't write very often are episode tags or missing scenes. This is one of the rare exceptions. This is a tag for the third season episode, Legacy, in which truly awful things were done to Daniel by people whose primary function was supposed to be to care for him and his teammates. As has so often been the case, absolutely no attention was spared on the fallout which would inevitably result from such abuse.

This small story moves us into the darker days of Stargate SG-1. This is another of those rarities, a missing scene, this time for the late fourth season episode, The Light. Again, the impetus behind the story was the mistreatment of Daniel, though in this case it was the more general, global mistreatment that so characterized much of seasons four and five.

I've written very little related to The Season that Dare Not Speak Its Name, and I don't expect that to ever change. Those days were black indeed. This little snippit is one of only two bits I've ever written from that period between when Daniel left, and when he returned. The other is on the Adult page.

Ah, the Marine story :^) I originally contributed this story to a zine, but am now free to distribute it to the Internet. This is my first major gen story, and I have to admit that I'm proud of it LOL!
