October is the month for my favorite convention, ZebraCon in the western suburbs of Chicago.

For 2001, I created a calendar for one of my dearest fandoms, Stargate SG-1.

But by 2003 I had a new darling :^) So this year, I wanted to create something special for my beloved Magnificent Seven.

This page displays the major part of the result--a set of Magnificent Seven Playing Cards.

These are the jokers, face cards and aces. The pip cards were created by cutting tiny little faces of the Seven out in the shapes of the four suits. They were pretty cute LOL!

Here are my thoughts about the assignment of the aces and face cards:

Ace of Spades Ezra, of course. This is his card.
Ace of Clubs The only other black ace has to go to the Man in Black, Chris.
Ace of Hearts Who could possibly get this one but good ol' Buck?
Ace of Diamonds This one is for our delicious Diamond in the Rough, Vin.
King of Spades Orin Travis gets the only ace or king not given to one of the Seven.
King of Clubs JD, that Chris acolyte, gets this one.
King of Hearts Another obvious choice--Nathan is the King of Hearts
King of Diamonds Josiah, who is in his way a rather rough-around-the-edges gem, gets this one.
Queen of Spades This is for Mary, for her connection to Travis.
Queen of Clubs JD's charmer, Casey, is our Queen of Clubs
Queen of Hearts Who else but Nathan's lovely Rain?
Queen of Diamonds Vin's Nettie gets this one.
Joker Ah, nobody came close. One performance earns this card for Ezra.
Joker Vin, for his ATF-born penchant for practical jokes, earns the second joker.
Jacks Ah, serendipity. I didn't know what to do with the Jacks, so I decided I'd use
nice western scenery. Then I noticed what a nice collection of pretty horsey shots
I had. I think these are the prettiest cards in the deck.

Below are the faces of these cards. Enjoy :^)
